My Journey Back to Astrology and Healing
Many of you know me as the co-founder of Canada’s largest coast-to-coast holistic lifestyle expo and conference—a journey filled with passion, creativity, and a heartfelt commitment to uplifting others. But what many might not know is that long before that phase, I was deeply immersed in the world of astrology and healing. For two decades, I graced talk shows, filled rooms with cosmic insights, held a syndicated astrology column in a major newspaper that reached nearly a million readers, and even published my own magazine. Back then, I was in the thick of the cosmic dance, and it’s time for that authentic brilliance to shine once more.
I once believed I could balance both realms—promoting others while also nurturing my unique calling. Every time I attempted to reclaim my space as a participant—offering demos, lectures, workshops, and sharing my pioneering work in Cosmic Energy Alignment Healing (a practice rooted in over a decade of exploration from 1986 to 1998)—the universe gently (and sometimes not so gently) reminded me that my destiny lay elsewhere. I was pulled back time and again, as if each moment of withdrawal only amplified the magnetic forces drawing me to my true path. The energy was so compelling that even during a simple demo session, keynote speakers and exhibitors would drift into my booth, undeterred by announcements delineating roles.
I even have memories that make me smile at the cosmic irony of it all. I recall a moment when an exhibitor demanded her booth be repositioned because a mere setup pole was casting “poison arrows” at her space—a pole that held the dividers in place. Her frustration escalated as she bemoaned the absence of “guaranteed feng shui” at the event, challenging any rational solution with demands that defied the laws of physics. As a natural Libra, I sought to act as the peacemaker, the diplomat, easing tensions. Yet, when I returned from addressing her concerns, I found not only my booth empty but also the chairs around it were empty; people who were waiting to see me had cleared out. In that moment, the pressures of carrying an enterprise, of being everything to everyone, made me question whether I was inadvertently suppressing my cosmic journey. After the second show, I relented to the demands of others at the expo, never again to promote my work at the event over the next 22 years until it closed.
After trying to rise from that one-two cosmic punch, the third blow that truly knocked me down came in the form of my health. I had long managed Parkinson’s disease using natural healing protocols, a testament to my deep commitment to holistic well-being. However, just before my last event, I was struck down by what cardiologists ominously call “the widow maker.” This experience served as a powerful reminder—just as I’ve witnessed in many of my clients’ lives—the cosmos always has a way of turning up the pressure to ensure we pay attention. It was a wake-up call that resonated deeply with me, shifting my perspective forever.
There was a time when I almost gave up on life. My Parkinson’s had progressed to the point where it often stole my ability to speak, type, or even leave my home on difficult days. The simplest tasks felt insurmountable, and yet—somehow—the embers of my fire refused to die out completely. What kept them burning was the unwavering encouragement of my clients, colleagues, and students, who believed in me even when I struggled to believe in myself. I honored their faith, working on their charts when I could and resting when I couldn’t, but my heart wasn’t fully in it.
Then came The Day the Switch was Flipped. In a moment of profound exhaustion, I heard a small, wounded voice whispering that maybe it was time to let go—to surrender. And yet, instead of fading into resignation, I had a realization that shook me to my core: my journey wasn’t over. I still had work to do. In that instant, the dying embers within me reignited—not gently, but fiercely flaring into a raging flame that refused to be extinguished.
As I often remind my students, clients, and colleagues, there are no “negative” astrological influences. What we perceive as challenging energies are simply manifestations of our resistance to embracing our true dharma. When we lose sight of who we are meant to be, the cosmic energies express themselves in ways that become dysfunctional. This journey, with its trials and tribulations, has taught me that every setback is but a signpost pointing us back to our authentic path.
Today, I am stepping back into the light as a Master Astrologer and Healer—ready to share the refined wisdom I’ve cultivated over the years. I invite you to join me on this transformative journey as we explore the wonders of the cosmos and the profound insights hidden within our own hearts. Let’s embrace the cosmic forces together and remember that every challenge is a celestial cue to grow, realign, and ultimately thrive. It’s never too late!
Special Note to My Cherished BSSE Community
Let’s not be sad about what is gone, but celebrate that it existed. For over 24 years, the Body Soul & Spirit Expos united thousands of hearts across 12 major cities—almost stretching from Vancouver to Halifax. I know many of you wondered what happened when our journey took such an unexpected turn.
The expo weathered several powerful blows. The first came in the form of a media attack, sparked by the targeting of a single exhibitor as “anti-vaccine,” which unleashed a tidal wave of angry calls and online protests that nearly canceled our beloved event. The second came with the hardships of COVID and the lockdowns. The third was my own health—a battle with Parkinson’s and that life-threatening cardiac event, often called “the widow maker”—which left me too fragile to sustain the shows.
A fourth force gently but firmly sealed the deal. Over the last few years, competition became unsavory and divisive. Former venues, employees, contractors, and other event producers, once close allies, shifted their focus, seizing upon my health struggles to create dissension and polarize the community we had so lovingly built. The energy had shifted, and deep in my soul, I knew it was time to let go and move on.
Though these chapters closed in ways that were challenging to accept, each moment carries the invaluable legacy of our shared experiences. I am choosing to step forward with gratitude for everything we have created together, knowing that every smile, every lesson, and every memory holds a sacred place in our collective journey.
Thank you for being part of this amazing path. I embrace the future with hope and deep love, honoring all that was and all that is yet to come.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Chandler
